Dear Prospective Nannies and Sitters,

Thank you for your interest in becoming a part of the team at Carolina’s Preferred Sitters! Upon completion of the application, please contact our office.  We will then schedule a time and place to conduct your interview. A completed job application and face to face interview are requirments before securing employment through CPS. Applicants may call CPS when this application is complete or e-mail, postal mail or fax this application to us. Our mailing address and fax numbers are listed above. Carolina’s Preferred Sitters was created for the family needing periodic or occasional care. We also provide families with summer sitters, after school nannies, permanent part time and full time nannies. We may occasionally provide childcare for corporate or group functions.

Carolina’s Preferred Sitters requires all applicants to be 18 years of age or older and to have a driver’s license or picture ID. Having your own reliable transportation is essential. All applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and be able to provide proper documentation. We prefer for our sitters to speak fluent English. Infant/child CPR and first aid certification is very strongly recommended. A high school diploma or GED certificate is required. All applicants must consent to a background check and provide references that we may contact. We ask that you make arrangements for the care of your own child/children before accepting a sitting or nanny job through our agency. We require all of our applicants to be trustworthy, responsible and kind. A genuine love for working with children is essential.

Pay rates for Carolina’s Preferred Sitters are in the range of $9.00 - $ 13.00 per hour. The hourly pay rate is based on the number of children the sitter has in his/her care.   One child = $9.00 -$10.00 per hour, two children = $10.00-11.00 per hour, three children = $11.00 - $12.00 per hour and four children = $12.00 - 13.00 per hour.  These rates are already established with our clients and are not to be altered for periodic or occasional sits. However, a sitter pursuing a full or part time permanent position has the option of negotiating his or her weekly salary with that one particular family.  Sitters will receive time and ½ pay on holidays and all sitting jobs past midnight.  Late charges will be paid in addition to your hourly salary if a client does not return home at the agreed upon time. Carolina’s Preferred Sitters will collect all of our fees directly from the families. This means there is never a fee for you to work for our agency!  If we ever increase our hourly rates, you will always receive a raise! Carolina’s Preferred Sitters will be there for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week, if you ever need support or have questions.

Carolina’s Preferred Sitters requires all sitting requests to be booked through our agency. All sitters must sign a contract stating that they will not return to a client without our knowledge. Carolina’s Preferred Sitters is a small home based business.  We will not be able to continue to provide jobs for our sitters if they return to our clients without our knowledge. We ask that our sitters do not give out their personal phone numbers to our clients. We need sitters to remind our clients that bookings, concerns or changes in assignments are to be handled by contacting Carolina’s Preferred Sitters directly.
